Advanced Technology
As leading Boston dentists, we always strive to provide our patients with the best dental care currently available. Advanced dental technology offers informed decision-making and allows patients to make good choices as it pertains to their oral health. At Stuparich and Nouel Dental Associates, we provide the most current dental technology for your benefit:
With CEREC technology, restorations which were once created in a lab are completed in our office in Boston. This is used for cosmetic dentistry crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays. These restorations are finished in one visit, and there is no need for temporaries. CEREC restorations are created from porcelain, a durable and long-lasting material that looks and feels like a natural tooth. An optical 3-D image is created with a small camera, and traditional impressions are no longer necessary. CEREC is great for replacing older, failing amalgam or composite fillings with strong, tooth-colored porcelain restorations.
The treatment plan for a patient receiving a CEREC crown involves:
Our Boston dentists specialize in CEREC treatments. Dr. Nouel has taken two advanced CEREC courses at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and is our CEREC specialist. With CEREC restorations, Dr. Nouel is able to combine her love of dentistry with her artistic talents.
Radiographs are beneficial for detecting cavities located between the teeth, which often are not clinically visible. If we can detect cavities in the early stages, your treatment will be less expensive and invasive.
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography (X-rays). A sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image in seconds. This process is more efficient than traditional film X-rays, which take 4 to 6 minutes for images to appear.
Digital X-rays are optimal, because they can be enhanced and enlarged using a computer. They are friendly to the environment, because no film is used. Perhaps the greatest benefit of digital X-rays is that they are much safer for patients because they reduce radiation exposure by up to 90 percent.
An intraoral camera projects an image of your tooth onto a monitor, so you can see the problem in a magnified version and how we can correct the issue. It can also identify problems that may not be detected by the general means of examination, including cracks in your fillings or fractured teeth. Similar to the size and design of a dental mirror, an intraoral camera allows you to make better decisions regarding your treatment as you can see the same things we see.
We utilize a computer system that enables our Boston dentists, dental hygienists, and staff to effectively manage the most complex information in the dental field. Our system handles every aspect of our dental office, from scheduling and patient records to treatment options and financing. This has enabled us to achieve a nearly paperless office. We ensure that our system handles all technicalities, so that you receive the most current information currently available.
Treatment software is a wonderful computerized dental education program which will help answer many of your questions. Our Boston dentists and dental hygienists work with patients to let them view the latest dental techniques in a step-by-step format through use of this interactive system.
