Excellent Support for Crowns, Bridges, and Dentures

Dental Implants Boston

Dental Implants BostonOnce you have lost teeth, replicating their natural form and function can be difficult. This irregularity can cause you to hesitate when smiling or laughing. At Stuparich and Nouel Dental Associates, we want to give you the opportunity to express yourself again. When a tooth compromised by decay or damage cannot be salvaged, we often recommend dental implants. Our Boston practice places implants and restores them with dental prosthetics, so we are able to see your treatment through from start to finish. Dental implants themselves are titanium screws that are surgically placed directly into the jaw to simulate the natural tooth root. These implants are then restored with aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking crowns, dentures, or bridges that re-establish the structure and function of your bite.

If you have missing teeth that are affecting your ability to eat, speak, or express yourself naturally, you may be a candidate for dental implants. To schedule a consultation to determine your candidacy, please contact our dental office today.

Understanding the Procedure

Stuparich and Nouel Dental Associates is equipped with the most advanced technology that will make your dental implant procedure smooth and stress-free. The first step of the implantation process involves performing an i-CAT® scan, which is used to assess the bone density and anatomy of your mouth and jaw. Once you are comfortably sedated, an incision will be made in your gum to expose the bone, and a special tool will carefully drill pilot holes in your jaw to make room for the titanium implant. Temporary restorations can be placed on the implant to preserve aesthetics. After your initial surgery is complete, a two to six month waiting period begins during which osseointegration, or the fusing of the implant and the bone, occurs.

When your mouth has been given time to heal, the abutments to which your crown, denture, or bridge will eventually connect are attached to the implant. Finally, your dental implants will be restored using natural-looking artificial teeth. Our Boston doctors are meticulous when it comes to choosing the aesthetic elements of your smile. The color, shape, and spacing of your teeth will have been established during your first consultation and will reflect your personal requests.

Why Replace Missing Teeth?

Aesthetic Appeal

Replacing missing teeth can drastically improve the appearance of your smile, providing you with a boost in self-confidence and motivation to maintain your oral health for a lifetime.

Damage and Decay

Missing teeth can cause food to become trapped in the spaces left, increasing your risk for damage, tooth decay, and gum disease, which can be detrimental to your oral health. Additionally, the remaining teeth tend to shift into the gap left by your missing tooth, disrupting the natural structure of your mouth.

Bone Deterioration

As soon as a tooth is lost, the jawbone begins to deteriorate and this wear can worsen the longer the tooth is out. The longer you wait to replace your tooth and the more your bone dissolves, the lower your chances are of qualifying for tooth replacement.

Everyday Function

Speaking and chewing can become incredibly difficult when you lose teeth. Replacing them will restore structure and function as well as improve your confidence and general well-being.
