We always strive to provide our patients with the best dental care currently available. Investing in modern technology ensures a long-term investment in your future, because advanced technology offers informed decision-making and allows patients to make good choices as it pertains to their oral health. At Stuparich and Nouel Dental Associates, we provide the most current dental technology for your benefit:
i-Cat Scan

Drs. Stuparich and Nouel use the i-CAT 3-D imaging system to obtain images necessary for implants, complex tooth extractions or impactions, orthodontics, and TMJ issues. The i-CAT is located in our office so that patients do not have to travel to a different location in order to have this important X-ray taken. The scan is completed in 20 seconds or less, and patients are seated in an open environment. This is the highest image quality on the market today with significantly less radiation than other CAT scans.

CEREC
With CEREC technology, restorations which were once created in a lab are completed in our office. This is used for crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays. These restorations are finished in one visit, and there is no need for temporaries. CEREC restorations are created from porcelain, a durable and long-lasting material that looks and feels like a natural tooth. An optical 3-D image is created with a small camera, and traditional impressions are no longer necessary. CEREC is great for replacing older, failing amalgam or composite fillings with strong, tooth-colored porcelain restorations.

The treatment plan for a patient receiving a CEREC crown involves:
- Numbing the tooth to remove the decay in or around it.
- Re-sculpturing the tooth to provide an ideal fit for the crown.
- Making a digital impression of your teeth in order to create a custom-made crown in our office using CAD-CAM technology. This process takes several hours.
- During this visit, the crown can be permanently delivered.
Dr. Nouel has taken two advanced CEREC courses at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and is our CEREC specialist. With CEREC restorations, Dr. Nouel is able to combine her love of dentistry with her artistic talents.

Radiographs (X-rays)
Radiographs are beneficial for detecting cavities located between the teeth, which often are not clinically visible. If we can detect cavities in the early stages, your treatment will be less expensive and not as invasive.

Digital Radiography
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography (X-rays). A sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image in seconds. This process is more efficient than traditional film X-rays, which take 4 to 6 minutes for images to appear.
Digital X-rays are optimal, because they can be enhanced and enlarged using a computer. They are friendly to the environment, because no film is used. Perhaps the greatest benefit of digital X-rays is that they are much safer for patients because they reduce radiation exposure by up to 90 percent.

Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera projects an image of your tooth onto a monitor, so you can see the problem in a magnified version and how we can correct the issue. It can also identify problems that may not be detected by the general means of examination, including cracks in your fillings or fractured teeth. Similar to the size and design of a dental mirror, an intraoral camera allows you to make better decisions regarding your treatment as you can see the same things we see.

Computers
We utilize a computer system that enables us to effectively manage the most complex information in the dental field. Our system handles every aspect of our dental office, from scheduling and patient records to treatment options and financing. This has enabled us to achieve a nearly paperless office.
